Large Group Activities

Valentine Parties: This week is our Valentine Party. We will be doing it on Wednesday and Thursday to make sure all of our student's get to do it. I have found that the best way to help a child continue learning and not to create chaos is to keep your routine. Our class routine will stay the same, we will just change activities to meet them:

Small Group: Valentine Bag Decorating

Snack: Decorating Heart-Shaped Cookies (We have a treat for student's with dietary needs)

Large Group: We will be focusing on each student's name and helping to encourage the concept of giving. One student will come up with his/her valentines that they brought (or extra's on hand), we will have them 'read' the student's names and then have them put it in the bag of that student that will be sitting with it.

Motor and Movement: A combination of songs that teach one-step directions through music (like the hokey-pokey) and also some imitating of patterns of movement (e.g. clap-clap, stomp-stomp, hands up and turn-around).
